Should Your Brand Be Using Pinterest to Grow?
When people hear that we specialize in Pinterest growth, we’ll occasionally be met with the response, “I’m sure Pinterest is working great for your clients, but it’s just not the right fit for our brand.” And sometimes they’re right! Pinterest is awesome for growing some brands and is much less effective for other types of businesses.
To make the decision process simple, here are three questions to ask before committing to growing your brand’s Pinterest account:
Who is your target demographic?
While Pinterest has a wide range of types of people who are active, there are two major statistics you shouldn’t ignore when deciding if your brand will benefit from posting regularly on Pinterest. First, take a look at the age demographics of Pinterest users. Second, check out the gender breakdown of Pinterest users. As of this year, over ¾ of Pinterest users are women. Keeping this in mind, a product that has a target demographic of men who are 65-85 years old is likely better off spending time on other forms of marketing rather than Pinterest.
Where is my product offered?
Pinterest is not the best for brands that only sell their products or services in-person. For example, if you own a bakery with three locations in Virginia that does not have any online sources of revenue, Pinterest probably won’t be worth the time for your business. Pinterest is ideal for brands that sell online, either through selling e-commerce products or virtual services.
Do you have the resources to post regularly?
To reach the benefits from Pinterest, you’ll need to post consistently (at least a few times per week). This can be difficult because it can take a lot of time to post often; producing enough high quality content and pin descriptions. If you don’t have the time to post, but you still think your brand would benefit from being on Pinterest, it’s worth considering hiring a social media manager to take on this task. Just make sure you have the budget to get the right help for your brand’s growth.
